Miscreants try to burn down wood plank shop

Imphal: Miscreants tried to burn a shop selling wood plank using  petrol bomb at around 5.10 pm at Singjamei Kshetri Leikai, Imphal East on Tuesday.

The shop is owned by Khangembam Devajanta (Bobby), 48, son of Kh. Nabakanta Singh of Singjamei Kshetri Leikai, Imphal East.

Some unknown miscreants hurled the petrol bomb assembled in a plastic bottle. However, locals of the area extinguished the fire in time. During the incident, some parts of the shop were damaged.

It is also reported that Devakanta is the accused of alleged murder of Salam Ibetombi of Singjamei Wangma Beigyabati Leikai, Imphal East.

Ibetombi was allegedly shot dead on December 18 from a stray bullet of Devakanta while celebrating FIFA World Cup football final match won by Argentina.
