16 percent of the cancer patients in the state is found from breast cancer

Imphal: Sixteen percent of the cancer patients in Manipur belongs to breast cancer, said state Health and IPR minister Dr Sapam Ranjan Singh at the observance of Breast Cancer Awareness and Workshop of Breast Cancer organised at the Classic Grande, Imphal East on Tuesday.
The number of breast cancer patient is more than the cervical cancer patients. This ailment is also common to the young women. To control this, we need to put effort with a commitment, the health minister said.
Proper training of the medical professionals, health staff, and field workers are necessary to take care of the scenario in the state. The state government has also been working relentlessly to improve the health care system of the state, he added.
Chief Minister’s Health for All, MHA, has been launched for bringing a change to the health care system of the state. The health department has also started screening of NCDs in the state, he informed.
Dr Ranjan appealed to all the concerned health staff to be sincere and dedicated to their service so that the objective of overall improvement in health sector can be achieved. He also informed that organising such workshop will help to create awareness amongst the public.
The minister also distributed appreciation letters to the outstanding performers of different categories as a part of the workshop.
