Balasahebanchi Shiv Sena Manipur Pradesh submits memorandum to central leaders

Imphal: Balasahebanchi Shiv Sena Manipur Pradesh has submitted a memorandum to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home minister Amit Shah through Union MOS, RK Ranjan on the last day of recent Parliament session.

This was informed to reporters by state president of Balasahebanchi Shiv Sena Manipur Pradesh, M Tombi, here on Wednesday.

He said the memorandum was submitted on Thursday at New Delhi.

Tombi said the memorandum included inclusion of Meitei/Meeitei in scheduled tribe list; upgradation of Tongjei Maril to four lane road; fencing of international border and adoption of an appropriate land law in Manipur.

He said in Manipur around eight percent of the geographical land is located at valley area and the remaining areas are in hill districts. In the present scenario of the law of land the people in valley are not allowed to settle in hill district while the people in hills can settle in both hills and valley.

He appealed the government to take necessary steps to press the central government and to endorse the memorandum that the party had submitted to the central leaders for adoption of an appropriate land law in the whole state of Manipur before full functioning of Railways service in the state.

Regarding the border fencing, Tombi said reports have been published in media of seizing of drugs in the state and in neighboring states from the vehicles coming from Manipur. There is strict checkpoint at Khudengthabi along Imphal-Moreh national highway. However, seizing of illegal drugs coming from beyond the border is increasing. He said if the border fencing is completed then the issue could be reduced to zero.

In the upcoming 3-tire local body election the party will give priority to the women candidate, he added.

Tombi said the official website was launched to bring transparency in the function of the party’s activities and through the website any individual who wants to join the party can enroll through online.
