Bar associations of Manipur strongly condemn lady advocate assault

Imphal: High court Bar Association of Manipur and All Manipur Bar Association strongly condemned the ‘physical assault with attempt to outrage the modesty of a lady advocate’ by one Longjam Rohit Singh on Tuesday.

In a release issued and signed by secretary High Court Bar Association of Manipur, Samarjit Hawaibam said a decision was unanimously taken during a joint meeting of the two bodies held at High Court of Manipur on Thursday.

It mentioned that Rohit, 27, son of L. Jibonkuamr of Thangmeiband Meisnam Leikai, Imphal West allegedly assaulted physically with attempt to outrage the modesty of the lady advocate while she was in full uniform. She was on the way from High Court of Manipur to the Revenue Tribunal, Lamphelpat.
