5 Manipur cops terminated in War on Drugs

Imphal: Five Manipur Police personnel arrested recently with illegal drugs have been terminated with immediate effect, said chief minister N. Biren Singh during Republic Day celebration here.
The chief minister said this highlighting the seriousness of the state government in its War on Drugs campaign.
The police personnel were carrying 1.336 kg of Heroin No. 4 powder and 9.151 kg of suspected WY (World is Yours) methamphetamine tablets in a state police commando vehicle on January 16.
The seizure was done from a Maruti Gypsy of a team of CDO Unit, Kakching which was posted at Moreh and were under orders of posting to Special CDO Unit, Khabeisoi coming from Moreh at Kuraopokpi near St. Joseph English School on NH 102, Kakching district police superintendent Shrey Vats said.
The terminated personnel were Havildar Kh. Achouba Singh of MPTC, rifleman Th. Subhash Chothe of 7th MR attached with CDO unit, Kakching, comando Y. Dineshwar Meitei of Imphal West diistrict, rifleman M. Premchandra Singh of 6th MR presently attached with CDO unit, Kakching and rifleman N. Dorendrajit Singh of 6th MR presently attached with CDO unit. A cash of Rs 80,000 was also seized from Achouba.
Biren warned that there will be no compromise against anyone found involved in illegal drugs and poppy plantation.
