Medical stores selling H & X drugs in Thoubal instructed to install CCTV cameras

Imphal: District magistrate, Thoubal district, Manipur has issued an order instructing all Medical stores in Thoubal district selling Scheduled H & X drugs t install CCTV cameras in their premises.

“Under Section 133 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC), it is hereby ordered that all Medical Stores in Thoubal District selling Scheduled H & X drugs shall install CCTV Cameras in their premises,” the order said.

Violation of this order will be strongly dealt with as per law, it added.

The Scheduled H Drug and Schedule X drugs are the ‘restrictive drugs’ covered under the Drugs and Cosmetic Act and Rules. Both can be sold only based on the prescription.

The first one should be labelled with the symbol ‘Rx’ and conspicuously displayed on the left top corner of the label. While, Schedule X drugs should be labelled with the symbol ‘XRx’. It includes narcotic and psychotropic substances-based drugs.
