112 acres Poppy cultivations destroyed in Manipur


Imphal: More Poppy cultivations have been destroyed in different parts of Manipur continuing state government’s mission on eradication of poppy cultivation in the state.

On Monday,  a combined team of District Police Ukhrul and 6th MR along with volunteers of Thoyee village carried out destruction of illegal poppy plantation at Mapithel hill range under Litan PS jurisdiction. The combined team destroyed about 15 acres of poppy cultivated areas .

On the same day a combined team of Tengnoupal District Police and Tengnoupal forest division in presence ofeExecutive magistrate destroyed around 28 acres of illegal poppy plantations at the Hill Range of Henjang village.

On Tuesday, a combined team of Kamjong District police, 6 MR , MPTC Pangei, NAB  and Kamjong Forest Division destroyed 35 acres of illegal poppy plants at Maokot/ Lanchah hill ranges.

On this day, another combined team of Tengnoupal District Police,Tengnoupal forest division along with seven volunteers of Naharol Semgat Sagat Apunba Lup, Shikhong, Thoubal, in presence of executive magistrate under the supervision of  SP, Tengnoupal destroyed around 34 acres of illegal poppy plantations at the Hill Range of Henjang village.
