Man arrested for illegal possession of arms

Imphal: Imphal West district police commando apprehended one person for illegal possession of a pistol from Mayang Imphal Konchak Yangbi near district hospital on Friday.

The arrested person has been identified as one Asem Bomcha Singh, 33, son of A Manglem Singh of Mayang Imphal Konchak Mamang Leikai, Imphal West.

One 9mm pistol along with magazine loaded with 4 bullets of 9mm were seized from his possession.

Bomcha disclosed the police that he used the pistol (9mm) for threatening general public in an around Imphal area.

The arrested person along with the seizure have been handed over to Mayang Imphal police station for further necessary legal action.
