More Poppy cultivation enthusiasts arrested

Imphal: Chief minister N. Biren Singh on Sunday said one more money investor for illegal drugs arrested, who was a woman resident of Imphal East..

The chief minister posted on his Facebook wall that the arrested lady was one Lamkhovah, 45, wife of late Mangkhopao Haokip of Haokip Veng, Imphal East District.

It was informed that she invested a sum of Rs 30,000 for poppy cultivation at T Boljang Village.

A police team of Saikul police station had arrested two persons who were involved in illegal poppy plantation at Puleijang Hill range and Lhangsom Hill range western part under Saikul PS jurisdiction.

They were Lamkhohao, 55, son of late Holkhopao of Puleijang village and Jangginlal, 25, son of Jamlhun of Dinglen village.

Lamkhohao was arrested from his residence at Puleijang village and Jangginlal was arrested from his residence at Dinglen village.
