2 NRFM cadres, another illegal arms possessor arrested

Imphal:  Imphal West Police commando nabbed three persons- one for illegal possession of arms and ammunition and two active members of proscribed underground outfit, National Revolutionary Front of Manipur (NRFM) from different places on Wednesday.

The arrested persons have been identified as one Thounaojam Hemba Singh, 19, son of Th. Dorendro Singh of Kongba Nongthombam Leikai, Imphal East; Sagolsem Rahul Meitei, 19, son of S Noyon Singh of Bamon Kampu Makha Leikai, Imphal East and Khulem Shyam Singh, 19, Kh. Samananda Singh of Kongpal Chingangbam Leikai, Imphal East presently staying at a rented house of Md Zahiya Khan of Shangaiyumpham Part -I Dam Makhong, Thoubal district.

Hemba was arrested for possession of illegal arms and ammunitions at from Palace Compound near Bheigo Saw Mill.

Hemba disclosed the police that one pistol was handed over to him by Rahul. From his disclosure Rahul was apprehended from Andro Parking near Oil Pump.

Rahul further disclosed that he joined NRFM outfit 3/4 months back thorough Shyam and presently working under the command of self-style finance secretary of the same outfit, Dabalo alias Nongpoknganba alias Pabung. Rahul and Shyam had served several monetary demands to government offices, private institutions and general public and others under the instruction of Dabalo, police said.

Rahul disclosed that he collected one pistol from Shyam and handed over to Hemba for performing activities of the outfit.

The commando team, then, arrested Shyam from his rented house. On questioning, Shyam revealed that he started working for the outfit for the last 6 months under the command of Dabalo.

The commando team seized one pistol along with one magazine loaded with five 7.65 mm ammunitions; three mobile handsets; one wallet containing Rs 220; one aadhaar card; one PAN card and one two wheelers (Honda Activa 6G) from them.

The arrested persons along with the seized articles were handed over Porompat Police station for taking further necessary legal action, a police report said.
