Korean Language Learning course launched at Manipur College

Imphal: Department of Higher Education, Manipur has launched a Korean Language Learning course at the government and government-aided colleges of Manipur during a function held Manipur College, Singjamei, Imphal West on Tuesday.

Fourty students from Manipur College and Imphal College have been enrolled for the course. The course will be continue till June 1.

Education minister Th. Basanta Kumar Singh said any students or individuals cannot get knowledge from books alone but also through exchanging cultures, languages and traditions. Learning additional language is an asset of an individual which no one can take out, he added.

As proposed by the director of Higher Education proposal to the government, the state cabinet has approved to allocate Rs 10 crore for College Fagathalasi’ mission, the minister said.

Under the mission the infrastructures of colleges will be taken care of and to improve others related to all the colleges including government and government-aided colleges of Manipur, he added.

The state government has already launched learning of seven different ethnic languages of Manipur with a stipend of Rs 10,000 per session (2 months). While learning something any individual should follow a certain discipline so that a society can be developed.
