Imphal: Manipur MAHUD minister Yumnam Khemchand along with state BJP president A. Sharda Devi and MLAs conducted cleanliness drive on Thursday morning in and around Khwairamband Market including Paona Bazaar stretch ahead of G20 Summit which is scheduled to conduct in Manipur on Friday and Saturday.
Khemchand said Manipur is known as ‘Switzerland of India’, people should dispose the solid waste properly instead of disposing at roadside. Manipur is a small state and the natural beauty of the state can be enhanced by disposing the waste material at appropriate places.
He said people should try to show the natural beauty of the state so that the foreign delegates could carry a message regarding the scenic beauty of the state all over the world. With the message the Tourism sector of the state could be developed.
“Gutkha cover is one of the waste that is polluting the city area”, Khemchand said.
