Couple nabbed with Heroin, Biren tells police to find out owner

Imphal: “Find out the owner of the drug, where it was brought from and where to deliver,” Manipur chief minister N. Biren Singh instructed a police commando team who were seizing Heroin drug from a couple at Bishnupur district, which he came across on the way to Sangai Ethnic Park, Moirang Khunou on Thursday morning.

The district police team detected the contraband drug concealed in a Jeep compass bearing registration number MN 01AG 7875.

The driver was identified as Ngamkholet Lhungdim, 30, son of Holkholun Lhungdim of Phoilen village, Chandel district and passenger was his wife Lhingneikim Lhungdim.

The Heroin No. 4 drug was packed in 101 soap cases . The persons have been arrested and a case is being registered at Bishnupur Police Station.

“Our security personnels are working day and night in the War on Drugs, and I urge all to extend support and cooperate to completely root out the drug menace from the state,” Biren said.
