Modi Battalion seizes 140 bags betel nuts in Manipur

Imphal: Modi Battalion under the aegis of IGAR (South) recovered contraband Betel Nuts from Wamku village, Tengnoupal District on Sunday.

The betel nuts were seized based on a specific information. Following the information, a Mobile Vehicle Check Post from Company Operating Base, Larong was established at Wamku road junction. The party intercepted a truck, MN 04A 7682, at Wamku-Chandel junction and found the vehicle loaded with 140 bags of betel nuts worth Rs 19,60,000.

The seized items along with the driver and vehicle were handed over to Tengnoupal Police station for further legal investigation, the Assam Rifles said on Monday.
