House passes demands for grants amounting Rs 16,86,03,06,000

Imphal: The ongoing session of 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly on Friday passed seven demands amounting to Rs 16,86,03,06,000.

Chief minister N. Biren Singh who is also finance in-charge moved the demands on the Assembly floor.

The amount for the Information and Public was Rs 18,22, 08,000; Labour and Employment was Rs 73,64,00,000; Power was Rs 547,74,53,000; Election was Rs 30,05,95,000; Science and Technology was Rs 5,05, 50,000; Information Technology was Rs 199,73,77,000; and for department of Tribal Affairs and Hills Development was Rs 811,57,23, 000.

Among the seven demands opposition MLAs, K Ranjit Singh, Surjakumar Okram and Th. Lokeshwar raised motion for disapproval of policy cut on three demands on Information and Publicity; Labour and Employment and Power.

After deliberate discussion on the policy cuts with the concerned ministers the seven demands were passed.
