Former Education minister Radhshyam inspects Raman House of Sainik school

Imphal: Former Manipue Education minister Th. Radheshyam Singh, educated at Sanik School, Pangei, Imphal East inspected the burnt site of Raman House (hostel) of the school on Sunday.

Fire broke out at Raman House of Sanik School, Pangei, Imphal East on Saturday, which might have started from the dry paddy field adjoining to the hostel.

As the incident was occurred during school hour most of the students inside the hostel were at the school and no causality were reported.

Belongings of students staying inside the hostel, hostel furniture, books and some materials were burned during the incident.

Sources said during the fire outbreak properties of around Rs 55-60 lakh value might have been damaged.

Radheshyam during his visit said he will consult with the Education minister to depute some officials in order to take necessary steps so that the school curriculum might not be affected.

He said the class X examination has already started and proper counselling is needed for the students staying in Raman House.

Radheshyam said it is fortunate that no causality was reported during the incident.
