Brown Sugar smuggler jailed

Imphal: A Brown Sugar smuggler who was arrested on December 1, 2017 has been sent to jail for fifteen years under NDPS Act by NDPS Special Judge, Thoubal on Monday.
The convict was Md Rakibur Rahaman, 34,son of MV Hasamuddin of Moijing Mayai Leikai, Thoubal.
He has been given conviction with rigorous Imprisonment of 15 years along with a fine of Rs 1 lakh for committing offence under the Act.
He was arrested by NAB from Thoubal Moijing Lamkhai and seized Brown Sugar weighing 1Kg excluding the weight of the plastic containers.
