Couple nabbed with Heroin, cash

Imphal: A team of Imphal West police commando on Tuesday apprehended two drug smugglers including a woman from a rented House of Yengkhom Thambalngou Singh of Khuyathong Pukhri Achouba while conducting cordon and search operation at Thangmeiband areas in connection with the ongoing Assembly session.

The smugglers were Md. Noor Khan and his wife, resident of Golapati Mayai leikai. Both were staying at rented house of Yengkhom Thambalngou Singh of Khuyathong Pukhri Achouba, a police report said.

The police team recovered 50 plastic vials containing suspected Heroin No. 4 powder (7 gm approximately), Rs 1,04,160 (proceeds from sale of drugs), Rs 1500 in old currency note, 374 WY tablets, two mobile handsets and one TVS Jupiter scooter.

The arrested person along with the seized articles were handed over to Imphal Police station for necessary action.
