2 women arms dealers apprehended in Manipur

Imphal: Two women arms dealers were apprehended from Heirok Part-II Mayai Leikai,  Thoubal district, Manipur by a team of Assam Rifles and Manipur Police on Wednesday.

Based on credible intelligence inputs a joint operation was launched by Keithelmanbi Battalion under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South), and  Thoubal police commandos wherein, two women arms dealers were apprehended, the Assam Rifles said in a press release on Friday.

One 9mm pistol (Glock) was also recovered from their possession, it added.

The identities of the arms dealers were not revealed in the press release.

The apprehended women along with the recovered items were handed over to Heirok Police station for further investigation, the release said.
