International Women’s month at Imphal

Imphal: As a part of observance of International Women’s Month as One Multiple One Activity under Multiple District 322, Lions Clubs International, Lions Club of Imphal Valley organised the project “Health for Her & Empower Her” at IMA market, Khwairamband Nupi Keithel on Saturday.

In a statement signed by Club Administrator (LC Imphal Valley) and Region Chairperson (III), District 322D Lions Clubs International, Dr N Romi Singh mentioned that programme was organsied in association with Lions Club Imphal North along with the members of the club as a part of service to the humanity under Lions Club of International District-332D.

Romi mentioned about the importance of Women Empowerment and role of Manipuri mothers and women and stressed that “Health for Her” is very important in keeping women empowerment in Manipur society.

The function was attended by Sukvinder Singh (president, LC Imphal Valley), past presidents of the club; Ch. Ratankishwor; Manmeet; Ex-corporator T. Indrajit; Tijendra Singh (President LC Imphal North, among other member of the two clubs.

Secretary of Apunba Keithel Sinaiba Lup and Lup, Konthoujam Prabha also took active part in the service activity by supporting the members of the two clubs in distributing the sanitary napkins to approximately 200 women vendors of the market.

The club members assured that Health checked up of the women vendors which has been carried out in the past will be planned in coming months in consultation with the women of the Ima market as continuation of women empowerment in consultation with the local bodies.
