3 drug smugglers nabbed with 50k WY tablets


Imphal: A combined team of commandos of Imphal East and Thoubal districts police personnel of Lilong police station nabbed three drug smugglers from Lilong Haorou Hangamthabi, Thoubal district on Saturday.

The drug smugglers were identified as Md. Imtiyazur Rahaman alias Nanao, 24, son of Md. Nur Rahaman of Lilong Haorou Hangamthabi, Thoubal, Md. Amir Khan, 24, son of late) Md. Lahimuddin Of Lilong Yangbi Leikai, Boroi Makhong, Thoubal and Abdur Wahid, 36, son of Md. Nasir Ahamed of Keikhu Makha Leika, Porompat PS, Imphal-East.

The police team recovered 50, 000 suspected WY tablets, two vehicles (Maruti Suzuki ECO Van and one Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire), one red backpack and three mobile phones from their possessions.

The arrested persons along with the seized items were being handed over to Lilong Police station for taking up further necessary legal action against them, a police report said on Sunday.
