5 kg Brown Sugar recovered from a car in Manipur, 3 arrested

Imphal: A team Bishnupur District Police of Manipur recovered Brown Sugar weighing about 5 kg concealed inside one Maruti Alto car on Saturday.

The police arrested three persons–Md. Khutleibam Amirkhan, 39, son of late Md. Hellaluddin of Lilong Tairen Makhong, Md. Sengamayum Nasiruddin, 26, son of Md. Maniruddin of Lilong Chingkham Makha,  Thoubal, and Md. Khulakpam Tenden, 20, son of Md. Sallaoddin of Lilong Ushoipokpi, all belong to Thoubal district.

The drug was packed in one black bag containing five packets of plastic polythene suspected to be Brown Sugar. It weighed about 5.127 kg including the weight of plastic packets. It was found concealed inside the Maruti Alto car bearing registration number WB66J-0924.

The arrested persons and the seized items were handed over to Nambol Police station for taking further necessary action, a police report said.
