One arrested with Brown Sugar

Imphal: Imphal West Police commando on Sunday nabbed a drug smuggler with Brown Sugar along National Highway-102.

The smuggler was apprehended during normal frisking and checking along the highway at Lilong Chajing Lamkhai waiting shed.

He was identified as Md. Mustaf Ali alias Rahul, 23, son of Md. Jalaruddin of Thoubal Moijing Mayai Leikai.

One black polythene bag containing suspected to be Heroin Brown Suger weighing 652.60 grams approximately was recovered from his possession, a police report said.

Ali disclosed the police that the recovered drug was handed over to him by one Md. Nanao alias Raj of Thoubal Khelakhong to sell to interested persons.

Efforts are made to arrest Ali’s associate, police said.

The arrestee along with the seized article have been handed over to Singjamei Police station for necessary legal action, the report said.
