Applications invited for Media Fellowship on Climate Change

Imphal: Directorate of Environment and Climate Change (State Climate Change Cell, Manipur) Porompat, Imphal has invited applications for 4th State Level Media Fellowship Programme on climate change reporting for the period of one year from the journalists of Manipur.

Theme of the fellowship programme will be on “River’s System of Manipur”. The sub-theme to be focused on linkages with Climate Change related issues on Livelihood, Riverine, catchment, springs, Agriculture, Irrigation, Technology, etc.

Fellow can avail this fellowship only two times consecutively. Fellows who have received the award twice can however apply again after one year break. Fellowship in four categories will be awarded across the state, as Open category for print media reporter, Open category for electronic media reporter, Women Journalist category for print media reporter, and Hill Journalist category for print media reporter.

The applicatnt shoud have at least one years’ experience in Journalism and Media reporting.

The fellowship award carries Rs 50,000 per fellowship (in three instalment) along with citation.

During the fellowship period the fellow will get the opportunity of interstate exposure visit and capacity building.

Application along with latest CV and two passport size photographs is to be submitted to the joint director, Directorate of Environment and Climate Change, Government of Manipur, Porompat, Imphal on or before March 31.

The application should also enclose a letter of endorsement from the editor mentioning that the output under the fellowship programme will be published/telecast in the concerned newspaper/electronic media.

All fellowship must agree to abide by the rules, regulations and procedure taken up by the concerned authority, joint director Dr T. Brajakumar Singh said in a press release.
