41 noisy motor bike silencers replaced

Imphal: Imphal West District Police on Sunday detained persons riding 41 motorcycles with modified noisy silencers which caused a huge noise pollution.

They have been released after replacing the silencers with the authorised ones and after giving awareness, police said.

On Thursday night Imphal Police station team detained persons with three Enfield motorcycles along with specially modified silencers which contribute to the  noise pollution,  ‘which is a major cause of annoyance to the public’ .

The bike silencers were changed to fit the public norms.
